Camera from samsung featuring a 16.2 megapixel and built–in Wi–fi connectivity, the Samsung WB850F is a travel–zoom compact camera which offers a 21x optical zoom and a 23mm wide–angle setting. What Makes Samsung WB850F Digital Camera Different
With smartphones gradually more becoming the default gadget through which most people take snapshots –ironically, helped somewhat by Samsung's own Galaxy smartphones– compact cameras’ manufacturers need to raise a rather compelling argument for the general market to procure standalone digital cameras. And in order to outshine the relentless march of technology, Samsung, therefore has taken a complete approach to its WB850F long zoom digital camera range.

This conventionally designed camera does not only feature a best–in–its–class 21x optical zoom with a 23mm wide angle, it combines this to a 35mm focal range and a 16.2 megapixel effective resolution. To further maximize desirability and/or future proofing, WB850F throws in a GPS antenna and cable–free Wi–Fi connectivity. Though fellow smaller body, big zoom cameras including Canon's 12x IXUS 510 HS also offer Wi-Fi, unlike other manufacturers that offer wireless connectivity in their small body, big zoom digital cameras, Samsung is extending this feature across its ranges. And to put its money where its mouth is, Samsung incorporates Wi–Fi connectivity in all its new NX models.

Features of Samsung WB850F Digital Camera

Size and Weight
Measuring a pocket–sized 109.5x62.2x24.9mm, the only feature that seems missing in WB850F to make it the most ideal travel tool among st other compact cameras may be actual waterproofing. The camera weighs a solid feel but manageable 232g sans card and battery.

Megapixel BSI (Back Side Illuminated) CMOS Sensor
From night time cityscapes to tropical sunsets, you can now snap dimly lit moments with the Samsung WB850F on hand. Unlike conventional sensors, the Samsung comes equipped with a 16.2 MP BSI CMOS sensor which requires less light for proper exposure. Therefore, should a moment be lit only by the moon's soft white glow, this powerful travel camera will perfectly capture it.

VGA AMOLED Display
Whether you are sightseeing during the day or sunbathing on a beach, the Samsung WB850F makes a perfect companion. Its light, thin 3–inch VGA (Video Graphics Array) AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light–Emitting Diode) provides more vibrant colours and darker blacks than conventional LCD screens. It serves up more vivid, sharper, and easier to view images from any angle, even under the glow of the midday sun.

Full HD Video Recording

Apart from taking high–quality photos, the Samsung films 1920 x 1080p high definition video at 30 frames per sec, with extraordinarily sharp colour and lifelike details. Compared to a camera with MJPEG video, WB850F features a H.264 format which allows longer recording. Therefore, you can cover more of the action. On top of this, you can hook up your camera wirelessly to a smart television and watch your brilliant high definition footage right at the comfort of your home.
