The Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is a pretty great little phone that just happens to take two SIM cards. It does have its pros and cons, but in general its a nice device. We took a closer look at it to see exactly what the Duos has to offer.

There are some really good key features on the Duos. It's a quad band phone, making it great for travelers, although the 3G support is only dual band. It has a 3.14 inch full touchscreen and a pretty powerful 832 MHz processor. It runs a full 290 MB of RAM, meaning that it's pretty responsive and good for multi-tasking or running more than one process at a time. It also runs Android's 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It has a mere 160 MB of internal storage, but there's a micro SD slot to add more external memory if necessary. There's a 3.15 MP camera built in, and a GPS receiver with assisted GPS. It does have WiFi too. Bluetooth connectivity is good, being the slightly newer Bluetooth 3.0 version, and there's a document viewer, an accelerometer and proximity sensor too. It's fully social network integrated, so no problems with Facebook or Twitter, and has Swype text input. All in all, there are a lot of good things to say about the Duos.

There are a few bad points though. The screen is pretty low resolution, which is disappointing. The camera is fixed focus, so no zooming or auto focusing, and there's no flash either. The lack of a dedicated camera key makes opening the camera app slow and unwieldy. And there's no support for Adobe Flash either, so web browsing can be a little dull.

The Duos isn't a bad phone at all, considering that it is a dual SIM device. It's not the greatest phone on the planet, but it is a cut above the rest for a dual SIM. And it is a budget conscious choice too, being a very reasonable price. The fact that it's a quad band phone is just an added bonus on top of all its other nice features. You really wouldn't be making a terrible decision if you bought the Dual Sim Mobile.
