A VPN Is a Virtual Private Network and is used around the world to prevent a various types of attacks and from the Government.   A VPN has several features allow a user to extend their protection.   It's features allow the user to encrypt their outbound and incoming traffic to prevent snoopers and people such as the NSA from watching them.  For the People who are new to the idea, here are a few ways to think of it.
